Bill Approval — deleting entries in a synced ledger

When you and the other party are LINKED, VyajPay does not let either side silently erase a transaction. Deletes go through Bill Approval: the other side gets an Approve / Decline prompt before the entry is removed.

Android iOS

When approval triggers

Only when the ledger is a Synced Ledger, or while an unlink request is pending. On unsynced ledgers (no linked party), deletes happen instantly with no approval step.

Before you start

  • Both parties must be signed in to VyajPay.
  • The customer (or borrower) must already be a Synced Ledger.
  • Internet connection is required to send and receive the request.
What the other party sees
Your VyajPay display name, your phone number, the transaction that you want to remove, the proof file name (if you are deleting a proof), and the reason. They tap Approve or Decline.

Step-by-step

  1. You delete a transaction

On a synced ledger, swipe-delete or tap delete on any entry. The entry is not removed yet — instead it shows a banner that the delete is waiting for approval.
  2. A request is sent to the other party

VyajPay sends a delete request to the linked party. They see your name, your phone, and the reason: "Requested delete from synced ledger".
  3. The other side sees a banner

On their device, the same transaction shows a banner: "{Your name} wants this transaction removed." Two buttons appear inline: Decline and Approve.
  4. They tap Approve or Decline

Approve → the entry is removed on both sides. Decline → the entry stays and your pending banner updates to "Declined".
  5. You see the result

Your "Delete request pending" banner updates: the entry is removed (approved), stays with a Declined note (declined), or keeps waiting (no action yet).

Frequently asked questions

Edits to amount, date, and note are allowed on either side and reconcile through normal sync. Deletes are protected so neither party can silently erase financial evidence — the other side must agree.
Inside the app only. The request goes directly to the linked party’s VyajPay account. There is no public link or web URL to approve from.
The transaction stays in your ledger with the pending-delete banner. It waits until they approve or decline.
Yes. The pending banner has a cancel action. Tap it to withdraw the request and restore the entry on your side.
Digital Locker is private to you, so deleting Locker files does not need approval. Deleting a proof that is attached to a transaction in a synced ledger does — the same Approve / Decline flow runs for that proof.
Your VyajPay display name and phone number. Banners are color-coded: orange for pending, red for declined, green for approved.
