When to use single scan
Use single scan when you have one bill or note in hand and want to record it as a single transaction. For multiple entries on a single page (a khata page with many rows), use batch scan instead.
Before you start
- Customer must exist.
- Grant camera permission on first tap.
- Daily AI quota must be available.
If the scan fails
- "Daily AI limit reached" — wait until the quota resets, or save manually.
- "Image unreadable. Retake the photo." — retake in better light.
- "No entries found in image" — use a photo where amounts are clearly visible.
Step-by-step
Open the Add Entry sheet
From Customer Detail, tap You Gave (red) or You Got (green) at the bottom. The sheet slides up from the bottom of the screen.Tap the camera icon
Inside the sheet there is a small camera icon next to the amount field. Tap it. VyajPay asks for camera permission the first time.Capture or pick an image
Snap a clear photo of the bill, receipt, or hand-written note. One image per single scan.Let VyajPay AI parse
VyajPay reads the image with its built-in AI. Amount, note, and date auto-fill in the sheet. The original image stays attached to the entry as a proof.Review and save
Double-check the parsed fields. Adjust if needed. Tap Save. The transaction is added to the customer’s ledger and the proof attaches to the entry.
Frequently asked questions
Single scan parses one entry from one image and lives inside the Add Entry sheet. Batch scan (FAB on Customer Detail) parses many entries from one image — typically a full khata page — and opens a review sheet to edit and save them all.
Yes. Both single and batch scans use the daily AI quota. If the limit is reached you see: "Daily AI limit reached."
VyajPay shows: "Image unreadable. Retake the photo." Try better lighting, hold the phone steady, or align the receipt straight.
Message: "No entries found in image." This means the image was readable but did not contain transaction-like data. Use a clearer photo with amounts visible.
In the Digital Locker for that customer. It is private to you and syncs across your own devices only.
